Funding: Focus Club

Financial opportunities are available to Clubs once they have received Focus Club status from Wiltshire Cricket Board. There are a variety of awards that Focus Clubs can apply for and the section below gives some information about a few.

Grant Aid

Grant Aid is only available to Focus Clubs with an online Development Plan.

ECB logoThe England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) Grant Aid Scheme aims to finance capital projects, including renovations, to improve facilities which contribute to increased participation in cricket. If a Club is seeking funding from the ECB Grant Aid Scheme, this funding cannot exceed 75% of the total costs of the project.

Eligible Project themes - amongst others:

  • Fine Turf Match Pitches
  • Non Turf Practice Net Areas
  • Indoor Centre Upgrades/New Build
  • Communal Changing Facilities

To express an interest clubs should submit in writing a brief explanation of their project and an account of their current status regarding junior development to Pete Sykes.

England and Wales Cricket Trust - Interest Free Loan Scheme

England & Wales Cricket TrustThe England and Wales Cricket Trust welcomes eligible ECB affiliated cricket clubs with junior sections to consider an interest-free loan to assist in the development of facilities on their ground(s).Whether it is a sightscreen or a changing room the England and Wales Cricket Trust will allocate interest-free loans to clubs that meet set criteria up to £50,000 with a repayment period of up to ten years.

Clubs with as little as 25 per cent partnership funding can apply (repayments quarterly throughout the term of the loan). The scheme is open to any ECB affiliated cricket club with a junior section who has a passion to be part of a modern dynamic sport development programme and is willing to complete, deliver and update a simple development plan.

To express an interest clubs should submit in writing a brief explanation of their project and an account of their current status regarding junior development to Pete Sykes.

Grant Aid / Machinery

Grant Aid for Machinery is only available to Focus Clubs with an online Development Plan.

In much the same way as the Grant Aid above, funding has been successfully obtained from the Foundation for Sports and Arts to be available to Focus Clubs and County Board Grounds Associations across the Country to purchase machinery. This funding pot is hugely significant as for a long time now no money has ever been available for ground machinery as it did not come under the set criteria. In the County currently we are working with 3 clubs and the WGA on funding applications.

This is the pot of money that can make all of your club groundsmen happy, so apply now by contacting Pete Sykes.
