Focus Clubs
Wiltshire currently has 16 Focus Clubs who have been selected by the County Board as key deliverers of Cricket under the following criteria:
Focus Club Definition
A Cricket Club that:
- Is affiliated to the ECB via the Wiltshire Cricket Board
- Is committed to achieving the objectives within ‘Building Partnerships www.ecb.co.uk/ecb/publications/building-partnerships,518,BP.html
- Will work in partnership with the ECB, WCB, schools and the community to deliver high quality agreed development plan outcomes
- Has achieved or is committed to achieving and maintaining ECB Clubmark Accreditation evidencing that they are a safe, effective and child friendly club
- Has an up to date Club Development Plan that has been approved by the County Cricket Board and is reviewed and updated on an annual basis
- Is committed to updating their development plan in line with the new ECB development plan template www.ecb.co.uk/clubdevelopmentplanning
- Is committed to annually review their Development Plan and input relevant data on to CBMS
- Attend all District Development Group meetings
- Signs up to the WCB Service Level Agreement annually
Focus Club Selection
The current Focus Clubs were selected on the basis that:
- They are identified as a key deliverer within the WCB strategic development plan
- They are committed strategically to the delivery of junior development programmes and/or development activities with specific target groups (disability, womens/girls, and ethnic minorities)
- They are able to access and utilise ECB, WCB and local development resources to support the delivery of their Club Development Plan

- Calne
- Chippenham
- Corsham
- Devizes
- Marlborough
- Potterne
- Purton
- Redlynch and Hale
- South Wilts
- Steeple Langford
- Swindon
- Trowbridge
- Warminster
- Wootton Bassett
Funding
There are a considerable number of opportunities for Focus Clubs to receive funding towards various projects and schemes and with the support of the Development Office clubs can achieve a great deal. Projects within Wiltshire that have been supported currently include:
- New Practice facilities at Swindon and Chippenham CC
- Square renovation at South Wilts CC
- Improved machinery at Chippenham, Corsham and Wiltshire Grounds Association.
