Indoor Cricket
At present there are four Indoor Cricket Leagues operating within Wiltshire. The League's are the Chippenham Indoor Cricket League, Salisbury and District Indoor Cricket Association, Savernake Forest Indoor Cricket League and the Swindon Indoor Cricket Association.
The current format is that all leagues play out their current season and provide a champion. The four champions are then brought together for a finals day in early February the following season and the winner represents Wiltshire in the National Indoor Cricket competition, run by the ECB.
Wiltshire Indoor Cricket Finals - 2012
The finals of the Wiltshire Indoor Cricket will be held at the Sports Centre, Sheldon School, Hardenhuish Lane, Chippenham. SN14 6HJ on Sunday, 29th January 2012. The Sports Hall has been booked from 1100 hours.
This year the finalists are:- Winsley CC (Chippenham Indoor League), Breamore CC (Salisbury & District Indoor Cricket League), Great Bedwyn CC (Savernake Forest Indoor League) and Swindon Nalgo CC (Swindon Indoor League.)
An independent draw has taken place and the timetable for the day is as follows:-
1100 Set up room and warm up for Great Bedwyn and Swindon Nalgo.
1105 Semi final 1 – Great Bedwyn CC v Swindon Nalgo CC.
1220 Warm up for Winsley and Breamore.
1225 Semi final 2 – Winsley CC v Breamore CC.
1340 Finish and break.
1345 Final – winner 1 v winner 2.
1500 Presentations.
Please note that teams are permitted to bring 7 players and the 7th player could act as the scorer. Teams must provide a scorer. The umpires will be appointed.
The successful team will represent Wiltshire in the National Indoor Cricket competition. We have been drawn away and will play the Dorset champions (Poole Town CC) on Sunday, 19th February 2012. The venue will be the Dorset Cricket Centre, Avon Causeway, Hurn, Christchurch, Dorset. BH23 6DY.
Balls and score sheets will be provided on the day and I take this opportunity to wish all teams the very best of luck and look forward to seeing you on the day.
