County under 14s celebrate opening of local Julia's House Hospice
Following the official opening of Julia's House in May, our county boys under 14s marked the occasion in their clash with Dorset by lining up in support of the charity at the start of their match. Fittingly this match was being played at Bishops Cannings CC who as a club have done a tremendous amount to support the charity through their own fundraising efforts.
Julia's House in Devizes is the first ever children's hospice in Wiltshire and has been completely reliant on fundraising and donations; something that will continue to be the case in terms of meeting running costs in the future.
Julia’s House has been supporting Wiltshire families for the past three years, offering home and community-based respite care to parents with life-limited children. The new centrally-based hospice will offer families access to state-of-the-art facilities and more social opportunities.
Julia’s House Devizes will now undergo inspection to gain Care Quality Commission approval before welcoming the first families this summer.
