Wiltshire Cricket

Representative Cricket

Wiltshire Cricket is very proud of its representative cricket. Wiltshire Cricket devotes a lot of resource to providing a clear and comprehensive player pathway for players involved in representative cricket and strives to offer quality coaching and a quality matchplay programme for all district and county squads.

Boys Representative Cricket

Currently, the representative pathway for young male cricketers in Wiltshire begins with District Cricket which is run at under 10, 11, 13 and 15 age groups. In terms of County Age Group cricket, Wiltshire currently has age groups at under 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 17.

Between the ages of 13 and 16, in association with ECB, Wiltshire Cricket delivers an Emerging Player Programme for the most talented Cricketers across the county that are deemed to have the potential to move on to First Class county academies.

The final step on the Wiltshire player pathway is the Wiltshire Academy, which was launched in 2011. Players between the ages of 16 and 19 are selected on an annual basis to become part of the Academy. The selected players enrol on to a 12 month coaching and match play programme, aimed at providing them with the ability to either progress on to a First Class county academy or into Minor County Cricket.
