Wiltshire CCC beat Dorset by 218 runs in Unicorns County Championship
Wiltshire having had their first match ruined by rain, won their second match in the Unicorns County Championship Western Division on Sunday/Monday/Tuesday at Corsham when they beat Dorset by 218 runs.
Winning the toss Wiltshire made 442 for 6 wickets in their 90 overs. The innings was dominated by Steve Bullen who on his home ground scored a magnificent 201. After losing an early wicket, he had partnerships with Ed Young (24) of 57, 118 with Jake Goodwin (47) and finally 210 with Jake Lintott (103). This last partnership was a record partnership for Wiltshire in the Championship for the 4th wicket.
Dorset fought hard to get on terms but with no player scoring over 40 were all out in the 80th over for 232. Tahir Afridi took 2 for 39, Joe King 2 for 37, Jake Lintott 3 for 90 and Jake Goodwin 2 for 22. Despite having a lead of 210, Wiltshire did not enforce the follow on in the high temperatures but went for quick runs and declared at 196 for 9 leaving Dorset 10 overs on the second day and all the third day to score 407 to win. Steve Bullen scored 75, Patrick Grieshaber 30 and Neil Clark 31. Jiger Naik took 7 for 46 for Dorset. Dorset fought hard in their second innings with Luke Webb scoring 69 but were all out for 188 leaving Wiltshire winners by 218 runs. Jake Lintott took 6 for 60 and Ed Young 2 for 37.
