Wiltshire CCC suffer defeat in Unicorns County Champonship v Devon
Wiltshire suffered their second successive defeat in the Unicorns County Championship, Western Division, when they lost to Devon at South Wilts on Sunday/Monday/Tuesday by 6 wickets. Wiltshire won the toss and chose to bat and struggled to 208 all out in 85 overs. Will Wade top scored with a patient 69 while Billy Cookson scored 33 and Mikey Reynolds also 33. T Codd took 4 for 27 and Joss Bess 3 for 30 for Devon. By close of play on the first day Devon had scored 85 for 5 wickets.
The second day saw Devon all out for 127 (Tom Ansell 32). Tahir Afridi took 4 for 50 and James Arney 3 for 30. Wiltshire's 2nd innings again stuttered and they were all out for 199 just after tea. Will Wade scored 33, Ed Young 33, Jake Lintott 34 and Tahir Afridi 32. Zak Bess took 4 for 25. This left Devon to score 281 to win and by close of play had reached 88 for 2 wickets. The third day saw Wiltshire take 2 early wickets to leave Devon at 112 for 4 wickets but this was their last success as the Bess brothers (Josh 90 not out and Zak 75 not out) put on 173 to win the match by 6 wickets.
