Primary School Competition

Autumn Chance to Shine Indoor Competitions

Throughout September and October each year Wiltshire Cricket offers primary schools the opportunity to get involved in our Autumn Chance to Shine competition. This programme offers schools the opportunity to receive the following:

  • A 3 week programme of coaching. Your school can choose whether this is curriculum or extra curriculum coaching
  • An informal teacher training session
  • Entry in to an indoor Kwik Cricket competition

The format of the indoor competition is 8 a side with all players receiving an equal opportunity to bat and bowl.

ECB Kwik Cricket Competition

There is a year 6 girls Kwik Cricket competition which is available to all state primary schools to enter.

The competition is 8 a side with all players receiving an equal opportunity to bat and bowl.

Within Wiltshire, we run five cluster girls Kwik Cricket competitions during term 5 or 6 of each school year. Entry in to these festivals is open to any school. The top two placed teams in these competitions will go through to the county girls Kwik Cricket finals which take place annually at the end of June.

Secondary School Competition

Lady Taverners Under 13 Indoor Competition

The aim of the Competition is to provide girls in Secondary School education with an opportunity to compete in a National Indoor Cricket Competition and create regular participation through a fun and fast version of the game.

The Competition is open to all Secondary Schools throughout England and Wales in the U13 age group. The Competition is open to Independent Schools.

The competition is 8-a-side and has modified but simple rules to ensure games are short and fast paced. Within the county we run local festivals to determine which teams are then invited to county finals. The competition will typically take place in terms 3 and 4 of the school year.

Lady Taverners Under 15 Indoor Competition

Chance to Compete Under 13 Outdoor Competition

This is a softball competition to be played outdoors with a junior size incrediball. All secondary schools are eligible to play. Players must be year 8 and under at the beginning of the competition.

Each team comprises of 8 players. Squads are limited to 10 players. County age group players are excluded from this competition. Any teams found to be playing County age group players will be disqualified.

The matches are played on a 21 yard pitch with predominantly normal cricket rules applying. Within the county we run local festivals to determine which teams are then invited to county finals. The competition will typically take place in terms 5 and 6 of the school year.
