Wiltshire Cricket to deliver MCC Foundation Hubs for Girls and Boys
Wiltshire Cricket is delighted to announce that from the 2024-2025 winter onwards we will be launching new MCC Foundation Hubs for Girls and Boys across Wiltshire.
The MCC Foundation is a cricket charity that delivers projects across the UK and around the world. They provide free coaching and match play in order to empower all boys and girls to reach their full potential in the game, to unite and inspire communities, and to promote physical and mental wellbeing.
The Hubs themselves provide opportunities for state school children and have been run across the country for a number of years. From this winter, Wiltshire Cricket will be involved in their running for the first time and we are really excited by the opportunity to become involved in the growth of hubs across our county.
Specifically, we will be providing hubs for the following:
- Girls Under 14s
- Girls Under 16s
- Boys Under 14s
- Boys Under 16s
Invitation to the MCC Foundation Hubs will be sent to children across Wiltshire later in October and will be based on recent trials that have taken for our Talent Pathways, i.e. children from state schools who have not been selected for our talent pathway teams will be invited to sign up to our MCC Hubs based on their performance at those trials. We are thrilled that this represents an increase in the opportunities that Wiltshire Cricket is able to provide for children across Wiltshire and we are grateful to the MCC for partnering with us to deliver these opportunities.
For those who register for the hubs, they will receive:
- 10 weeks of cricket coaching during the winter
- Match play and talent ID opportunities during the summer
- Cricket+ including S&C, mental health and nutrition support
- + all is completely FREE to attend
