Sam Dent joins Wiltshire Cricket Development team as Growth Development Officer
Sam Dent has become Wiltshire Cricket Limited's first ever growth development officer!
In this role, Sam's main work areas will be:
- Women and girls cricket entry level and participation programmes
- Disability Cricket
- Community and casual cricket offers
- Diverse community engagement
Initially, Sam's focus as the growth development officer will be Women and Girls participation. This year, he will be leading a series of coaching sessions for any women and girls (14+) who would like to start cricket or continue to play cricket. To do this, Wiltshire Cricket will be offering a soft ball cricket programme, consisting of a 6-week coaching programme leading into a relaxed and sociable soft ball cricket festival.
Each soft ball festival will be a great opportunity for participants to experience cricket without any fear of injury, in an environment that encourages fun, exciting and very enthusiastic cricket! It really will be a great opportunity to get involved in cricket from a participant’s point of view. Likewise, as a hosting club, it is a great opportunity to fundraise and promote your club! If your club would like to get involved with our soft ball cricket offer then please do contact Sam (contact details below).
Sam joins us fresh from Exeter Unviersity where he is currently in the process of finishing his degree in BSc Sport Science. Previously, Sam has spent 2 years with the Devon Cricket Board as their NatWest Under 19 Club T20 Coordinator and Chance to Shine Coach. As a Level 2 coach, Sam has also founded and assisted in multiple cricket summer camps across Gloucestershire.
We are sure that Sam's enthusiasm and professionalism will mean that he will hit the ground running and he looks forward to getting to know as many people during the coming months.
