New Law Forums - Get up to speed with Cricket's law changes ahead of the 2018 season

Wiltshire County Cricket League - Training Forums 2018

The Wiltshire Association of Officials (WACO) will, on behalf of the Wadworth 6X Wiltshire County Cricket League, be running Training Forums on the dates and at the venues listed below. These forums are for the category of Forum Trained Umpires which was introduced into the League in 2017. Those who attend the forums will have their names listed on the League’s register of Forum Trained Umpires.

NB - Owing to the Law changes any person who attended Umpire Training Forums last year will need to attend one of this year’s forums in order to be eligible for inclusion on the 2018 register. This will enable their Club to gain Bonus Points as per the Constitution & Playing Rules of the League.

Training Forums - Dates and venues (all meetings commence at 7.00pm and will finish at approximately 9.30pm):

  • Thursday 5th April Biddestone CC
  • Tuesday 10th April Warminster CC
  • Thursday 12th April Swindon CC
  • Tuesday 17th April Trowbridge CC
  • Thursday 19th April Royal Wootton Bassett CC
  • Tuesday 24th April Collingbourne CC (Collingbourne Ducis SN8 3UH)

Level 1, Stage I & II and  Non Playing Umpires:

Any umpires falling into the above category are, for the 2018 season, awarded bonus points on the same basis as last season. However, the League Management Committee recommends that any person who falls into the categories above, and has not received training elsewhere with regards to the new Laws, attends one of the forums.

Cost to Member Clubs

Each team in the Wiltshire County Cricket League will be charged £10.00 to cover the costs of the forums and two new Laws books. This charge will be collected by the League Treasurer when clubs are invoiced prior to the start of the season.

Booking Arrangements

Clubs may send any number of participants to any of the forums but will only receive two Law books per team at the first forum they attend.

Please inform Colin Pitman (email [email protected] or phone 01380 726145) of the number planning to attend - remember to include the name of your club and the venue.
