Potterne are Wiltshire's U19 T20 Champions
Swindon CC Played host to the 2022 U19 T20 finals, with Swindon, Potterne, Purton and Burbage competing for the crown. Following the completion of the group stages which consisted of a North & South group, it was then over to finals day!

Semi-final one was competed between winners of the North Group Swindon and runners up in the South Group, Burbage. Batting first, Swindon reached a total of 122/7 with Yusuf Khan top scoring with 37. There were two wickets each for Lewis Davies and Matthew Nocton. In reply, three wickets each from Cameron Oliver and Sam Giddings saw Burbage all out for 83.
Swindon beat Burbage by 39 runs
Semi-final two followed and was competed between South Group winners Potterne and North Group runners up Purton. Winning the toss, Potterne elected to field first. Three early wickets from Rory Lyttle put Purton into trouble early on, however a defiant 38 from just 26 balls from Anthony D’sa saw them reach a total of 109/6 from their 20 overs.
In reply, Potterne got off to a great start with openers Josh Kelly and Tom Spencer sharing a stand of 47 runs for the first wicket. Kelly eventually departed for 19 bringing Ben Highton to the crease. Spencer (52* from 40 balls) and Higton (27* from 18 balls) finished unbeaten to chase down the total in just 12.2 overs taking them through to the final.
Potterne beat Purton by 9 wickets
So, to the final between hosts Swindon and Potterne. Potterne skipper Sean Montgomery won the toss and elected to bat first with his team reaching a respectable total of 122 all out in the 20th over. Key contributions were made by opener Tom Spencer (17), Ben Higton (23) and Tom Campbell (37). Wickets were shared around by the Swindon bowlers, but the standout has to be Sam Giddings who took 4-14 to rip through the Potterne middle order.
Swindon got themselves off to a great start with 26 from opener Archie Atwell and 22 from number three Yusuf Khan however some tight bowling from the Potterne bowlers saw Swindon fall just 20 runs short of their target. There were two wickets each for Ben Higton and Albert Weeden and one wicket each for the other bowlers. Congratulations to Potterne for your victory!
