2023 Vitality U19 Club T20 - ENTRIES OPEN!
We are delighted to be able to launch the “Vitality Under 19 Club T20” Competition for the 2023 season, supported in association with The Wiltshire Queries Cricket Club and are pleased to announce that entries are NOW OPEN!!
Deadline for Entry – Sunday 15th January
Date for the Diary: Fixtures Meeting / competition run through - Thursday 23rd February
This competition has been taking place in Wiltshire for several seasons now and we’re delighted that the 2022 edition saw ten U19 teams, divided into North and South groups, culminating in a final’s day win for the Potterne CC who beat hosts Swindon CC in hard fought encounter. This followed two action-packed semi-finals involving Burbage and Easton Royals and Purton CC.
The U19 Club T20 Competition was originally founded to ‘bridge the gap’ between youth cricket and adult cricket, providing a fantastic opportunity for young cricketers to play additional cricket with their peer group. The competition quickly evolved into one that also encourages the young players to take ownership of their season, help their cricket clubs to fundraise and create some fantastic match-day atmospheres during the summer, which brings the whole club together and inspires future generations.
The competition also plays a vital role in retaining young players who may be at risk of dropping out of the game and on occasions, has also encouraged lapsed players to return to the sport, which has been fantastic to see.
