Swindon CC win Vitality Under 15 Finals Day with victory over Biddestone CC
Biddestone CC played host to our Under 15 Club T20 Finals Day, in association with Thomas Porter Wealth Management, as Swindon took the crown with a 34 run victory.
This year's Under 15 T20 competition involved 11 teams through 4 stages to reach Wednesday's final. On the night, Swindon won the toss and chose to bat first. There were contributions from lots of players, including Rakesh Savalapu (21), Finlay Hobson (20) and Aadi Tiwari (27). For Biddestone wickets were shared with one each for Harry Bates, Mathijs Inder Rieden, Freddie Cheetham and Tom Mcarthur. Thanks to some late runs from William Jordan (16) and Nisa Shinwari (13 not out), Swindon reached a strong score of 124-5.
In reply, Biddestone were well set at 56-2 but then lost 4 wickets for 2 runs to fall to 60-6. Top scoring for Biddestone as Joe Knight with 18 but the star for Swindon was Raghav Jaiswal with 5-21 from his 4 overs. In the end Biddestone fell to 90 all out to give Swindon a 34 run victory.
Swindon now go on to represent Wiltshire in the regional stage of the competition against the Hampshire winners. This will take place on Sunday 16th July.
