Super 1s Residential 2023

Last week, 5 Super 1s participants were invited to attend the annual Super 1s Residential at Avon Tyrrell Activity Centre (24th-26th July). Wiltshire’s participants attended with a group of others from Somerset, Gloucestershire, and Oxfordshire, presenting a fantastic opportunity to meet new people and make new friends.

Throughout the 3 days, participants took part in a range of activities including:

  • Wall Climbing/abseiling
  • Kayaking
  • Assault Course
  • Orienteering
  • Archery
  • Canoeing
  • Team Building Challenges
  • Cricket

Each activity presented a unique opportunity to use and develop each participants transferable skills within a number of new activities. Each individual embraced the challenges presented to them and were consistently willing to push themselves outside of their comfort zones to achieve new goals.

For the large majority of participants, the residential was the first time away from home which proved to be a significant step in their independence, with participants having to learn skills such as making their own beds and serving their own food.

Wiltshire Cricket would like to thank the Lords Taverners for organising and funding this series of brilliant opportunities and the neighbouring counties for creating such a fun and friendly atmosphere for participants.

We are looking forward to next year already!
