MCC Foundation Hubs in Wiltshire
We are delighted that for 2023-2024 there will be two MCC Foundation Hubs running in Wiltshire with plans to expand the offer from 2024-2025.
What is an MCC Foundation Hub?
MCC Foundation runs a network of more than 120 cricket Hubs serving some 4,000 young players across the UK. The hubs provide free to access coaching and match play opportunities for state educated cricketers aged 11-16.
In Wiltshire we are delighted that a Girls Hub and a Boys Hub will be taking place from Cricklade Manor Prep School, providing an opportunity for children from state school backgrounds to enjoy coaching and match play opportunities through the programme.
As we look ahead to the 2024-2025, Wiltshire Cricket is really keen to see the Hubs expand to more parts of Wiltshire so that we can broaden the reach of opportunities for our state educated children. In the meantime, for more information on the programmes being delivered in 2023-2024 and how to book your children on to them, please see below.
Please note these Hubs are being delivered by our Gecko Cricket, led by Ryan Higgins at [email protected]
Future plans
Looking ahead, Wiltshire Cricket is planning to work with MCC, Gecko Cricket and our pathway coaches to look at how the MCC Foundation Hub programme can be expanded to cover more areas of Wiltshire. We are really keen that this programme becomes an opportunity for those state educated children who may have missed out on selection for our talent pathway programmes or who may not be able to access some cricket opportunities due to financial barriers. More information on our plans will follow in 2024.
