South Wilts win U15 Vitality County Cup
This years U15 Vitality Cup competition began in a rainy May and was finalised on a warm and sunny Friday evening at The Grove where Potterne took on South Wilts in the county final. South Wilts captain Ivo Leyland won the toss and elected to field. Potterne's opening batters Bertie Rudler and Will Galpin made a great start before Asher Osborn claimed the first wicket. A flurry of wickets left Noel Schell to rebuild and stabilise the innings eventually being bowled by Jacob Nash in the 14th over for 27. As the last wicket fell Potterne were all out for 88 in 15.1overs.
The South Wilts opening pair of Freddie Jones and Callum Foot put on a quick fire 27 before Jones fell to Barney Nickell in the 3rd over. Despite some brilliant bowling and fielding by Arthur Barnes and Barney Nickell, South Wilts reached the target in 8 overs thanks to a blistering 31 from Foot and 24 not out from captain Ivo Leyland. South Wilts won by 7 wickets.
Supporters and spectators were treated to a great game, which was played in a positive spirit with some real talent on display from both sides.
