District Under 13 Festival programme leads in to North v South competition for remainder of season

Bank Holiday Monday saw the district boys under 13 festival take place between four district teams. Following this festival, district under 13 cricket will now become a North v South competition for the remainder of the season.

On the day, results were as follows:

  • Mid Wilts beat South by 9 wickets
  • North West beat North East by 8 wickets
  • North West beat South by 23 runs
  • Mid Wilts beat North West by 6 wickets
  • South beat North East by 36 runs

Well done to the Mid Wilts district on winning this year's district under 13 festival

Our thanks to Royal Wootton Bassett CC for hosting the festival, and thanks to the coaches who gave their time to run the teams.

Remainder of U13 District season

After the completion of the district festivals, district under 13 cricket narrows to a North v South programme for the remainder of the season. The decision to move to a North v South structure was made by a collective group of coaches during last winter and its aim is to provide a stronger matchplay structure at district level and to therefore provide a greater indication through those matches of players that could challenge for county selection in the future.

The newly formed North and South teams will compete in three fixtures as follows:

Sun 9 June 1pm North v South 35 over Winsley
Sun 23 June 1pm North v South 35 over Chippenham
Sun 14 July 1pm North v South 35 over Marlborough College

We wish the selected players for these matches the very best, and well done on all players who achieved selection to the district under 13 programme for the 2019 season.
