Online Training and Support from the Grounds Management Association

Grounds Management Association Toolkit:

Prior to Christmas, the GMA launched its new grounds management toolkit for club volunteers. The information on this can be found here; https://thegma.org.uk/news/grounds-management-association-launches-new-online-grounds-management-toolkit-volunteers

The new website consolidates information from the Sport England ‘Groundsmanship’ website and has reshaped some of its written content into short videos and easy-to-digest seasonal maintenance guides.

To access, the GMA toolkit, please visit Grounds Management Toolkit | Homepage (thegma.org.uk) or you can access Cricket specific resources at https://resources.thegma.org.uk/cricket/cricket-home

Grounds Management Association Online Training:

You may be aware that following the emergence of Covid-19 last year, the GMA has moved a lot of its training online, including:

(ONLINE) Level 1 Cricket Grounds Maintenance - This online option will suit those volunteers that do not have time to travel and attend a course. You will learn about the tasks involved in maintaining a playing surface in a cost-effective way, with the course costing just £25. Contents of the course include:

  • Requirements of the groundsperson and pitch
  • Maintenance activities
  • Safe use and storage of materials

The course concludes with a formal multiple choice assessment test, which is also online. On finishing the course you will receive a certificate of completion

For more information on the course and how to book please visit; https://portal.thegma.org.uk/education/course/379841

We have also been told that an Online Level 2 and Online Level 3 course are in development for release later this year.
