Wiltshire Cricket completes term of primary school delivery to kick off the academic year

At Wiltshire Cricket, a key part of our work is to deliver cricket in to schools, utilising the power of cricket to inspire children to develop a lifelong affinity with sport and physical exercise. Through funding from our partners at Chance to Shine we are able to deliver a wide range of opportunities to schools across the county and our delivery for the 2021-2022 academic year through Chance to Shine will commence in term 2. For more information on Chance to Shine you can visit our Chance to Shine webpage or contact our Head of Junior Cricket, Ali Goddard:

In addition to Chance to Shine, Wiltshire Cricket has also been pleased to launch our own coaching offer in term 1, which provides us with the opportunity to deliver to interested schools outside of our normal Chance to Shine delivery window. Throughout term 1 this has seen us deliver a combined total of 111 hours to seven primary schools across the county:

  • Chapmanslade School
  • Holy Cross School
  • Kington St Michael School
  • Lacock School
  • Neston School
  • Swindon Academy
  • Trinity School, Devizes

The sessions have been delivered to a mixture of key stage one and key stage two children and have provided an introduction to many of the key cricket skills within a fun and inclusive environment. Wiltshire Cricket would like to thank the seven schools above for their engagement with us in term one and we look forward to working with many more schools as our delivery ramps up from term two onwards
