Summer programme of Dynamos Schools Festivals get started in Wiltshire

This summer will see 19 Dynamos Schools qualifying festivals, followed by three finals days, take place across Wiltshire as our main primary school competition gets underway next week!

Building on the success of Kwik Cricket, Dynamos Schools has been designed to deliver an exciting new brand of competition connecting to the elite via The Hundred.

Dynamos Schools introduces children to the countdown cricket format and provides a consistent experience across schools and clubs.

Thanks

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the following for helping to make our Dynamos Schools programme happen:

  • Host clubs and venues - Without the support of the Cricket clubs and education sites listed above, the Dynamos Schools festivals simply wouldn't happen.
  • Festival organisers - For several of the festivals above, we rely on our network of School Games Organisers to help us with the coordination of dates and venues
  • Young Leaders - We are incredibly grateful for the Young Leaders from across several schools who have made themselves available to officiate at local festivals and have received training from Wiltshire Cricket in advance of those festivals

Supporting Information about Dynamos Schools Cricket

How to play

Dynamos Cricket provides a perfect introduction for all 8–11-year-olds new to the sport. It provides children with a more social offer and in schools, an exciting game of countdown cricket

The game can be easily adapted depending on the size of your group and more details including rules, equipment and how to score the game can be found in the downloadable Dynamos Schools competition pack.

Buy equipment

For any schools wishing to purchase equipment, please reach out to your local County Cricket Board for more information.

How to officiate

We have created a training aid to help those new to cricket (or those unfamiliar with the new format) to develop a better understanding of their role officiating a game. The training resources can be found here
