Launch of Wiltshire Cricket Strategy; Beyond Boundaries:

In recent weeks Wiltshire Cricket has launched its new four year strategy; Beyond Boundaries

We are delighted to launch Beyond Boundaries, our strategy for 2025-2029, and would like to thank our network of affilated clubs for the insight that was provided earlier this year to help shape certain parts of the strategy. Also, as alluded to in the introduction video above, we all continue to be grateful for the critical role that our cricket clubs play in delivering many of the game’s strategic ambitions.

With that last sentiment in mind and recognising that our Cricket clubs are the lifeblood of our game, Wiltshire Cricket is pleased to introduce one of the strategic themes from within the Inclusive, Diverse and Safe Game pillar of our strategy:

One of the things that Wiltshire Cricket has been conscious of in recent years is that a huge amount of information is distributed to cricket clubs in written form, be it directly from ECB in newsletters or in terms of communications that get sent out by Wiltshire Cricket. As well as there being a huge volume of information for cricket clubs to digest, the communication is also almost always via email meaning; a) things likely get lost or missed, b) we are not being varied in our communication methods, and c) it is not particularly personal.

As a result of this, we are pleased to announce that we will now be running bi-monthly Teams calls for leaders within our affiliated cricket clubs to attend. Features of these calls will be as follows:

  • Bi-monthly online calls that are optionally open to club leaders to attend (e.g. Chairs, Secretaries, Junior coordinators, CSOs or whoever you feel is most appropriate from your club)
  • One hour calls containing:
    • A reminder of any recent communications from ECB / Wiltshire Cricket.
    • An update on current things for clubs to be thinking of.
    • Guests from outside of Wiltshire Cricket.
    • Updates on specific programmes and initiatives.
    • Q and A opportunities for Cricket clubs with members of Wiltshire Cricket staff
  • Calls to be recorded with slide decks sent out to all affiliated clubs

Initial Dates of Wiltshire Cricket Affiliated Club Recreational Game Calls:

  • Monday 10th November 2025 – 7pm – 8pm
  • Monday 12th January 2026 – 7pm – 8pm
  • Monday 9th March 2026 – 7pm – 8pm
  • Monday 11th May 2026 – 7pm – 8pm
  • Monday 13th July 2026 – 7pm – 8pm
  • Monday 14th September 2026 – 7pm – 8pm
  • Monday 9th November 2026 – 7pm – 8pm

We will send out reminders in advance of each call, together with details of how club leaders can dial in.

These are completely optional calls for club volunteers to attend but we hope will provide a more personal and alternative way of us engaging with our club network on a regular basis.
