Wiltshire Cricket Limited launches its 2026 Affiliation process to cricket clubs
INTRODUCTION TO CLUB AFFILIATION:
Affiliation is the formal process by which a club becomes part of the organised cricket community overseen by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), which is the national governing body for cricket in England and Wales. Clubs affiliate by paying a small fee to their local Recreational Cricket Board (RCB), in this case Wiltshire, in return for which they gain access to a range of benefits only available to affiliated clubs. Affiliating clubs are also asked to confirm their commitment to following certain rules and standards set by the ECB, most of which clubs will already be familiar with.
Agreeing to these standards is done by accepting the Conditions of Affiliation. In accepting these conditions clubs cement their commitment to following ECB rules regarding conduct and welfare. By affiliating, a club is proactively improving people’s experience in recreational cricket and helping cricket to become the most inclusive team sport in England and Wales.
Clubs have today (3rd February 2026) received an email inviting them to affiliate to Wiltshire Cricket Limited. If your club has not received this email or wants the information sent to an alternative contact please contact:
In affilating, clubs will be asked to complete four actions:
1. Accept the Terms and Conditions of Affiliation - As alluded to above, clubs are required to confirm acceptance of the terms and conditions of affiliation. A guide to these terms and conditions can be found here
2. Complete a Club Contacts Questionnaire on Play-Cricket - Communicating with clubs on a regular basis is very important to Wiltshire Cricket Limited, hence it is important for us to collect information on a number of different officers for each club.
3. Complete a brief Affiliation Information Form - The ECB are viewing 2026 as a transition year from previous affiliation and accreditation processes:
- 2026 AFFILIATION: Transition year focussing on strengthening clubs’ understanding and acceptance of the T&Cs of affiliation and working towards meeting new requirements in 2027.
- 2027 AFFILIATION: Affiliation will be evidence-based, requiring clubs to demonstrate documented compliance to achieve accredited status.
Therefore, we are asking clubs to complete an affiliation health check to help us prepare for the more stringent affiliation criteria in 2027.
4. Pay the 2026 Affiliation Fee - Clubs will be emailed in February with an affiliation invoice relative to our different categories of affiliation

For 2026, alongside the launch of the above affiliation process, the ECB has also launched a new Club Affiliation Toolkit. We would urge clubs to take a look at this toolkit as there are lots of resources, templates and guidance documents that will useful in running your cricket clubs.
