Introduction to Scoring
This is an ideal course for complete beginners or as a refresher for anyone returning to scoring. It covers the very basics of scoring using a traditional paper scorebook and is ideal for anyone who wants to get started in scoring. The aim of this course is to identify and practise the basic skills with which to record a cricket match. It doesn’t cover everything, but it will give you the tools to get started including:
- Scoring record (scoresheet)
- Umpire’s signals
- Scoring symbols
- Scoresheet balancing
Please note, this course does NOT include electronic scoring.
The venue has free parking available, with level access into the building. Hot and cold drinks are available to purchase from the bar area.

Club Scorer Course
Club Scorer is the course for anyone wanting scoring on a regular basis and is the only course to comprehensively teach you how to score. This course is suitable for complete beginners and existing scorers who want to improve their skills. Complete beginners are advised to attend the Introduction to Scoring course first.
Please bring your usual scoring equipment (pens etc), although we will have some available for you to borrow, and also pen and paper for taking notes. On completion of the course you will receive an ECB ACO Club Scorer attendance certificate.

Scorers Roadshow
This is an open session to discuss and try out all things scorers and scoring - no fixed agenda; no need to join anything; open to all. The programme is likely to include some practical scoring, use of DLS, electronic scoring using PCS Pro, and the role of the scorer. You may opt to attend all day or just for the morning or afternoon session.
We currently have no Scorers Roadshows planned, but details will be provided here once they are scheduled.
Online courses
