Groups confirmed for Wiltshire Wallop 2022 competition

15 teams will compete in the 2022 Wiltshire Wallop competition, with details of groupings and fixtures now released. Can Potterne retain their crown or will there be a new winner?

Wiltshire Wallop 2022 Groups

As always, groups have been created on a geographical basis. All teams will play each other home and away. Groups for 2022 look as follows:

GROUP A – Devizes, Fonthill Park, Potterne, Shrewton

GROUP B – Burbage and ER, Goatacre, Royal Wootton Basset, Swindon

GROUP C – Biddestone, Bishops Cannings, Chippenham, Corsham

GROUP D – Trowbridge, Westbury, Winsley

What happens at the end of the Group Stage?

Quarter Finals:

The top 2 teams from each group will qualify for Cup quarter finals

Finals:

Quarter final winners will qualify for Finals Day (this will take place on Sunday 21^st August at last year’s winners; Potterne CC)

What is the Wiltshire Wallop?

The Wiltshire Wallop is a fun, simple, 20 over competition open to all Wiltshire affiliated clubs. It is the only competition that is open to clubs from all corners of the county, as we aim to find Wiltshire’s premier T20 team!

Below is a loose format of the competition:

20 over matches
Run during May, June, July and August
Group matches to be played during a selected fortnight. (you can decide which day and time)
Local groups of 4 or 5 teams (this will be confirmed once number of teams are established)
Each team playing each other a minimum of once (maybe twice - again confirmed once numbers are established)
Proposed Finals day (for cup and plate) on Sunday 21^st August 2022 (tbc).
Social media coverage and competitions throughout the tournament.
