Get Set Weekend 2024

We are pleased to be able to share details of the ECB Get Set Weekend 2024.

The Get Set Weekend (once known as CricketForce) has for many years been a pre-season focal point for clubs up and down the country. In 2023, over 20,000 volunteers got involved across England and Wales, supporting their clubs and local communities.

This year, the Get Set Weekend will take place on 23-24 March 2024, and we are encouraging clubs to register for the #GetSetWeekend using the short form on www.ecb.co.uk/getsetweekend.

Please note, even though the #GetSetWeekend national weekend is taking place 23-24 March we appreciate this weekend may not be suitable for all clubs and so you can of course run your events on alternative dates. When registering via the link above you will be able to indicate the dates of your event.

About Get Set Weekend

The Get Set Weekend is powered by The Cricket Collective: the army of volunteers that make cricket happen. This season we want to encourage clubs to use the Weekend not only to prepare your physical facilities and grounds but also to inspire new and existing volunteers to get involved at your local club. The ECB have produced two resources, both attached, to support with running the weekend:

  1. A digital booklet – The booklet includes advice on how to run a successful event, wet weather contingency plans, tips on creating welcoming environments, and new and improved social assets. The Digital Booklet can also be found on the ECB Resource Hub here which is available to all. Details will also be shared with clubs via email once they have signed up.
  2. An interactive editable Task List

Jewson Partnership

For 2024, the ECB have agreed a partnership with Jewson where up to 1000 registered clubs*, can win store credit ranging from £25 to £500 to support them with their events over the weekend. Additionally, clubs will receive a #GetSetWeekend resource pack** in the post to help promote the activities, recruit new volunteers and decorate their club. The physical pack includes various sized posters, flyers, bunting and drinks coasters.

*Deadline for clubs to register and be entered into the prize draw to receive Jewson Account Credit up to the value of £500 is 23:59 on 29 February 2024 (Clubs can continue to register after this date but will not be entered into prize draw)

** Final deadline for clubs to register for the physical resource packs is 23:59 on 29 February 2024 (Clubs can continue to register after this date but will receive only a digital resource pack, not a physical resource pack)

Additional Resources

To help your club promote your event and drive awareness of it, the ECB has created a suite of posters, images and social assets for both the CCB and clubs to use which is freely accessible via the ECB Resource Hub
