The County Grants Fund has enabled Swindon CC, alongside some other grants and substantial investment from the club, to undertake a full upgrade of all elements of the practice nets, including electric points, extended run ups, full enclosure and a chicane entry area for safety.
The project arose as the club's old nets facility was ageing and reaching the end of its useful life. This facility, which is key to the clubs ethos of developing players, will be used by members across the club from under 9s through to the senior sides, women and girls and the Wiltshire Disability Hub.
The County Grants fund ensured the club was able to push for the highest quality of facility as well as accommodating the more 'nice to have' elements such as the extended run ups.
With such large youth and adult memberships, the nets provide Swindon CC with high quality, safe, facilities to train in now and for many years to come.
